A Beautiful Thanksgiving Table Setting

Beautiful and easy Thanksgiving table setting

Who here is ready for Thanksgiving? I am! I am ready to eat that is. I'm ready to eat all the turkey, ham, cornbread dressing, pies, rolls, and carbs galore! My family lives out of state, so we don't always get to celebrate with them and this is one of those years. Instead of going to Mom's house for Thanksgiving, I am hosting Thanksgiving at my house! We have several friends who will also come over to join us for the big day.

This past week, I went ahead and got the dining room table all ready to go. I pulled out my pretty, vintage water goblets, antique silverware, nice napkins, everyday white plates, and candles. I clipped some branches off my trees to put as the centerpiece along with the pumpkin.

Doesn't it look pretty all pulled together? I put the pumpkin on a antique plate stand to give it some height. I think it turned out pretty well! The branches are such a pretty shade of green and bring in some color.

I'm making the turkey this year and I think I'm going to brine it the day before. 2 different people I've talked to last week said they put their turkey in a brine and that it is always so moist and yummy. So, they've talked me into it I suppose. I'm also making sweet potato casserole, cornbread dressing, and apple pie. Other friends will bring more sides and desserts. I always feel that Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without family favorites like cornbread dressing and sweet potato casserole. Don't you agree?

Use place cards around the table

Each place setting has antique silverware, a touch of nature, and a place card. I designed 3 different sets of place cards to go at each table setting that people can fill out. You can download those right here.

Above the piano, I have my much loved book page wreath, our thankful tree, and some pinecones that my 4 year old helped to decorate. She wanted to help me decorate for fall. She has since put a pile of leaves, pinecones, twigs, and acorns on the aqua cake stand with the pumpkin. I love it that she takes such an interest in making things look pretty.

We truly have so much to be thankful for! I think that we can start to take things for granted (I know I do!) and can start to forget that everything we have is a gift from the Lord. That is one of the reasons that I love Thanksgiving. It's a day that we can reflect on all the we have and have been given and say "thank you".

thankful tree

To teach my girls about thankfulness, we always set up a simple thankful tree each year. I clipped some branches from some trees, put them in a vase, and tied pumpkins and thankful signs on them that we filled out. It is usually the simple things that are the most meaningful things most of the time. I got the pumpkin set a few years ago, but so can use the I'm thankful tags that I designed to put together your own thankful tree.

I couldn't forget the buffet! On Thanksgiving day, this will be filled with all the yummy desserts but for now, it looks pretty with my topiaries, candles, and more antique trays. Side note, I love antique plates, platters, and trays! I have a plate wall in my dining room that is filled with all those things.

give thanks place cards

As I mentioned a couple of times, I designed 3 different sets of Thanksgiving place cards that I'm gifting to you! Why? Because I am thankful for my sweet readers! Without you reading Emma Marie Designs so faithfully, there wouldn't be a Emma Marie Designs. Thank you for being a reader! You can use these place cards as actual place cards, for your guests to fill out, or you can put them on a thankful tree. The options are really limitless!
