I've been wanting to do a gallery wall over the sofa for the last 13 months. Whenever I went shopping, I kept looking around for different things but could never find what I was looking for so the wall sat empty for over a year. I made a few new pillows and that inspired me to do something about that empty space. They say the first nail is the hardest and the scariest - that was defiantly true for me!
How to Recover a Chair Seat Cushion
Tuesday, July 29
How you reupholster a dining room seat is such an easy project that everyone, even a beginner DIYer, can do it! All you need is a great set of instructions (that you can get right here), a few supplies, and a chair seat cushion to recover. The hardest part in this quick project is getting the seat corners to fold smoothly. But, never fear! I've got a couple of tips that will make even that part simple for you.
I've had my antique dining room table and chairs for about 2.5 years now and told myself during that time that I would recover the chair seats. But, I never did because I can be so indecisive about committing to things longterm. Anyone else!?
Finally, I gave myself a start date, grabbed some fabric, and just did it.
I can't believe I put this project off for as long as I did, because this project only took a few of minuets to complete from start to finish. I love quick, easy, and simple home projects, and replacing the fabric on my dining room seat cushions checked all those boxes! Ready to learn how you can do this straightforward home project? Lets get started!
6 Ideas for Easy Table Centerpieces
Tuesday, July 22
I think it is sad that so many of us neglect our tables and many times the table becomes a holding ground for only napkins and the salt shaker. I think the reason for this is that we are practical and as the table is the hub of our kitchen, we use it multiple times a day so we say to ourselves that anything on the table has to have a specific job. Things can also quickly pile up on the table, homework assignments, mail, groceries, craft projects, and the list goes on. But you table does not have to be a completely blank slate or a piling station all the time. We should put forth some effort to have something, even a little something, on our table and create beauty in our surroundings. What better way to have a pretty vignette than in the heart of our home?

3 Ways to Deal with Clutter Hotspots
Wednesday, July 16
One of the things that I love to do and am pretty good at, is organizing inside and outside my home. I have found simple ways to simplify my day, I clear out the clutter and purge my home of things I no longer want or need, I've found a handful of cleaning tricks when I am short on time, and I have found effective ways to organize my children's toys to keep it neat and tidy and relatively toy free. With all these ways of dealing with clutter and organizing systems in place, you would think that my house does not have a problem with clutter, but you would be wrong! I have found that no matter how neat and tidy you are, clutter still has a way of happening.
