6 Ideas for Easy Table Centerpieces

easy table centerpieces

I think it is sad that so many of us neglect our tables and many times the table becomes a holding ground for only napkins and the salt shaker. I think the reason for this is that we are practical and as the table is the hub of our kitchen, we use it multiple times a day so we say to ourselves that anything on the table has to have a specific job. Things can also quickly pile up on the table, homework assignments, mail, groceries, craft projects, and the list goes on. But you table does not have to be a completely blank slate or a piling station all the time. We should put forth some effort to have something, even a little something, on our table and create beauty in our surroundings. What better way to have a pretty vignette than in the heart of our home?

While I love creating pretty spaces in my home, sometimes I need a little bit of inspiration to get those creative juices flowing. Wither that is looking at beautiful house pictures and pulling from those exactly what I likemaking a design board for a specific room in my house, or doing some research online on the space that needs help, these are all ways that help get me going in the right direction.

:: Glass Bottles ::

 Do you have glass bottles or a milk glass collection? Put it on your table in a cluster. With or without floral leaves and/or flower stems. A tray or large platter is optional.

:: Candles ::

Everyone usually has a large collection white candles - pillar, tapered, votives, and tea lights. Why not group several together to create a centerpiece? Vary the height and place on a pretty glass tray. Or, if you're handy, make some holes in a large piece of wood to place tea lights

:: Fresh Fruit ::

Fruit is a classic centerpiece. The next time you're at the store, buy a few extra pieces of fruit to place in pretty bowls or a Cake Stand on your table. This works great for not only summer but fall as well. Think seasonally - limes & lemons in the summer and pumpkins & apples in the fall.

:: Flowers ::

Flowers are the classic centerpiece and the first thing that comes to my mind when deciding what to place in the middle of my table. You don't need an expensive bouquet of flowers or a fancy vase to have a pretty arraignment. Divide the bouquet up into smaller arrangements and place in mason jars or juice glasses. A couple of floral stems can also go a long way. You can either do real flowers or artificial flowers, just make sure they look nice and not cheap!

:: Plants ::

Potted plants can be nice centerpieces. Think in terms off odd numbers and don't place anything too tall or wide on the table. Again, you can do either real or artificial plants

:: Branches from Outside ::

This last idea is one of my favorites that I use frequently. I love going outside and clipping a few branches off the tree to bring inside. Just remember to shake off any bugs (I'm kidding of course!).
