How to Make a Simple Valentine Wreath

Y'all, I'm all about cute and easy DIY's that I can do in about 1 hour. With Valentines day coming up I  wanted to do something that used things I already had in my craft supplies. Enter this simple wreath. It didn't take me very long to put it together and I used fabric either from my fabric stash or the scrap bin. Super quick and easy to do.

We all have those days and weeks. You know, the ones where we just can't get things together and then to top it all off, our house is a disaster zone! We ask ourselves how did this happen? How can I have people drop by my house when I don't have time to even clean it?!Well, here are 5 things that you can do to quickly clean the main living areas of your house, or at least have the appearance of being really clean. This only takes 15 mins max! Doing these 5 small things will really make a difference in the appearance of your house.

Kitchen Bar Stools

Remember last week when I showed you the new kitchen bar stools? I thought it would be a nice idea to also share some more bar stools that I had looked at. Its a mix of industrial and upholstered. When I was searching for new stools, I really liked this bar stool and was ready to buy 3. But they were on serious backorder (Looks like they are in stock and on sale right now!). In the meantime I got to thinking about the plans for the kitchen down the road.  I already had the dark wooden table and we're planning on staining the kitchen cabinets a dark brown so I started thinking that maybe dark bar stools wasn't the way to go after all. In the end we got 3 upholstered ones and I couldn't be happier!

New Additions to the Kitchen

The kitchen was recently shown some much needed love in the form of a new table. We needed a new kitchen table since moving into this house. The antique table we were using in our other home made its way into the formal dining room and we were just using a temporary fix in the form of a long folding table. So, after hours of researching, going into stores, and the like, we finally made a decision and brought this beauty home! 

5 Things

As I alluded to in my last post, I've been potty training my 23 month old. It has been quite the adventure to say the least! Potty training commenced last Saturday so for the last 9 days I have been completely focused on that. I have managed to work on a organizing project during nap time once or twice. As soon as its finished, I'll share all the details. But for now, here's some things that have been on my mind lately (besides potty training that is!) ~

1. Bookcases. I've got 2 big bookcases in the living room that I'm always trying to improve. Right now they are a oak color but I'm thinking about painting them white with a dark background. 

Happy New Year

Y'all, it's January 6th. Which means that it's way past time for me to start blogging again! The holidays are all over, Christmas decorations have been put away, goals for the new year have been made, so now it's time for me to refocus on writing once more. Thanksgiving and Christmas gave me a good excuse to take a break from blogging for awhile but the thing is, once you stop doing something than it's hard to get back doing it again.
